Hi, I’m Shaun Keating. I started pumping fuel at the local fuel dock at 15. What began as a summer job quickly turned into a lifelong career on the water. With over 30 years of hands-on experience in the marine industry, I’ve worked across nearly every aspect of boating, from hands-on maintenance and repair to complex systems installations. Over the past decade, I ran my own service business specializing in marine electronics sales, services and installations. I am a Master Technician with the ABYC (Marine Electrical; Marine Corrosion; Marine Systems; ABYC Standards), along with several certifications with NMEA. To transition my expertise into surveying, I graduated from the Chapman School of Seamanship for Yacht and Small Craft Surveying and am currently a Survey Associate with SAMS (Society of Accredited Marine Surveyors).
Today, I bring my technical depth to every inspection. Whether you are buying, selling, or insuring a vessel, I provide the detailed, objective insight you need to make a confident decision on the water.

Pre-Purchase Surveys
I conduct thorough pre-purchase surveys to help buyers make informed decisions. My detailed reports cover all aspects of the vessel, ensuring transparency and trust in the buying process.
Condition & Value
Insurance companies typically require a condition & value survey upon purchase and then upon policy renewal, which may be every year or every 3-5 years, depending on the vessel.
Damage & Claims
If your boat has been involved in an accident, I provide detailed damage surveys required by insurance providers to process claims. My reports document the extent of the damage, likely causes, and estimated repairs to help ensure a smooth and timely resolution with your insurer.
